Daily Peloton has this Gesundheit Checkup:
Elite Basque cyclist Gaizka Lejarreta has been removed from artificial breathing supports this morning and is breathing on his own, a good sign in a still grave situation for the rider. He is receiving care at the University Hospital of Salamanca. The rider crashed at the Trofeo Iberdrola on the 16th of March, hitting his head on the roadway, breaking his helmet, and sustaining serious cranial injuries. (Todociclismo)

Ich hab' kein Mitleid mit dem Typen!!! Hätte er diesen Blödsinn "Stierkampf" gleich gelassen, gings dem Stier und ihm besser!

Crashes during Saturday's E3 Prijs left several riders injured, some more seriously than others. Paul Van Hyfte (Vlaanderen T Interim) crashed on the descent of the Ladeuze and broke his left elbow, and will have to kiss the classics season goodbye.
Quick.Step-Davitamon's Paolo Bettini and Cofidis's Stuart O'Grady were caught up in the crash at the finish. Bettini ended up with a very sore behind, while O'Grady is afraid that he might have broken a rib. He will find out on Monday whether this is the case.

Tom Steels (Landbouwkrediet-Colnago) may have to forget his spring classics season and possibly the Olympic Games as well, as he is still not recovered from his crash in the Moscow World Cup in February. Doctors haven't ruled out a rupture in his brain membrane, but Steels hopes that this isn't the case.
"It's a suspicion, nothing more," he told Het Laatste Nieuws. "But I had the same symptoms. The headaches have gone, that is the most important thing. I have started training again but my condition is a long way behind. I'm sick to death of all the setbacks. I was in excellent condition in February. And then the crash on the track in Moscow: my whole spring gone."
Sports doctor Chris Goossens said that a membrane rupture is more dangerous than concussion. "You notice sometimes that people who have hit their heads suddenly die a month later from a blood clot in the brain. That can happen through a rupture like this. But normally you completely recover."

Skelde erlitt Schädelbasisbruch
Der Auftakt der "Driedaagse" war von zahlreichen Stürzen geprägt. Der Däne Michael Skelde (Alessio) kam zur Hälfte der Distanz zu Fall und wurde ins Krankenhaus gebracht; dort diagnostizierte man bei dem 30-Jährigen einen Schädelbasisbruch.
